I really cannot overstate the elegant, simple beauty of this stunning work of art. This piece does break my own rules of only buying in items that were made in East Van, these are handcrafted in Ladner but guess what...the wood comes from a fallen East Van tree! Maybe you live near where this ash tree grew and fell, back in 2018 at Semlin & East 8th Ave? Maybe you know some who lives near there and this would make the most meaningful, thoughtful gift!
Bowyer & Toulson repurpose fallen urban trees into their gorgeous, unique charcuterie and cutting boards. Inspired by the natural elegance of wood, their simple design approach ensures that the natural beauty of the product speaks for itself. Each piece is handcrafted and the provenance of each tree they work with is passed on to their customers.
Made from the wood of an ash tree that fell at Semlin & East 8th Ave, this long, slender cheeseboard is carved with Bowyer & Toulson's name and a unique number. It will hold more than the usual array of cheeses. Beautifully made, smooth and robust, it is sure to last for many years of cheese courses.
Ash is very heard wearing wood with a beautiful contrast of colours with a very smooth finish.
